The Milwaukee Breweries will certainly be monitoring the emerging pitching trade market over the next month. Some players will return to this team, but the priority should be to acquire another pitcher with ace-like material before the July 30 trade deadline. According to Bob Nightengale, one of the pitchers they were linked with should no longer be traded.
What is the current status of the Milwaukee Brewers starting rotation?
As of June 24, Milwaukee’s five players are Freddy Peralta, Colin Rea, Bryse Wilson, Tobias Myers and Carlos Rodriguez. Rea is their most consistent player this season. Peralta recently returned to form after a arduous stretch. Myers made four impressive starts, while Rodriguez made just three appearances in his huge league career.
Jakob Junis, who started one game earlier in the season, is back in the huge leagues but is starting on rest. DL Hall is currently playing in the minor leagues and Joe Ross remains on the injured list. Finally, they will be without players like Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley and Robert Gasser for the rest of the season.
One Milwaukee Brewers trade target is not expected to be traded anymore.
In the latest notebook, Bog Nightengale mentions that Miami Marlins southpaw Jesus Luzardo is no longer expected to be traded. He was on the injured list earlier this year with an elbow issue and was recently placed back on the injured list with a back injury.
