What are some fun and unique things to do around Wisconsin?
Let’s be real: people do this NO give Wisconsin enough credit. People accuse us of living in a country of “women” or of being uninteresting, but it’s simply not true. Sure, it would be nice if you never left the house – but where’s the fun in that? Some of our favorite unique attractions in Wisconsin include:
- Indoor adventures like our museums, Landeau Field and, of course, tours of our world-famous breweries.
- For those who prefer spending time outdoors, fear not: there’s plenty for you too! As of this writing, there are at least 66 state parks and recreation areas, and the enormous majority of them are can’t-miss attractions.
- Devil’s Lake State Park is one of those amazing places in Wisconsin.
- We are also large fans of visiting Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area.
What chilly day trips are there to do in my area?
Well, any of these 66 state parks in Wisconsin are a great start!
- Spend the day in lovely Door County, nestled between Green Bay and Lake Michigan. Not only is the coastline gorgeous: you’ll also learn a lot about the history of the area.
- It’s also nice to escape to almost any tiny town in Wisconsin; many of them are charming and peaceful, making it a perfect day (or more) to go. Some of our favorite tiny towns to visit in Wisconsin include Eau Claire, Fond du Lac, and LaCrosse.

So where can you escape for an amazing trip to Wisconsin? It’s straightforward: if you’re a fan of the outdoors, our amazing state parks are full of camping and cabin rentals. Enjoy the sounds of chirping birds and flowing water as you relax by the river in one of our amazing parks. There are a few tiny towns in Wisconsin that are perfect for a getaway like the ones mentioned in the paragraph above, but there are more!
- Escape your responsibilities somewhere like Manitowoc, which sits on Lake Michigan and looks and feels like the ocean. There is even a lighthouse!
- Another great place to escape is Port Washington, which is a great place for a romantic escape.
