The Milwaukee Brewers will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer. Earlier this week, Major League Baseball announced three recent members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and the only starting pitcher is longtime ace CC Sabathia. Known for his excellence in New York Yankees AND Cleveland IndiansSabathia won 251 games, struck out 3,093 batters and won the AL Cy Young Award in 2007. However, it was arguably his most dominant player during his brief three-month stint with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008.
After signing a deadline deal that sent Sabathia to Milwaukee in exchange for outfielder Michael Brantley and three other players, Sabathia posted a remarkable 11-2 record and 1.65 ERA in 17 starts. During this period, he recorded seven full games and three stoppages. He threw out the last pitch in the Brewers’ decisive playoff victory, ending a 36-year postseason drought. In 2026, his teammate from this season, outfielder Ryan Braun, will be on the Hall of Fame ballot. However, fans believe that his inclusion among the elite will not be enough, given his hazy history with performance enhancers.

Does anyone have a chance?
Among those joining the 2026 National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot will be former Milwaukee Brewers megastar and corner outfielder Ryan Braun. Braun primarily patrolled Milwaukee’s right field from 2007-2020, becoming an instant star following a season in which he won 34 home games and was awarded the NL Rookie of the Year award. The following year, 2008, Braun finished third in MVP voting, earned his first All-Star nomination and Silver Slugger Award, and helped the Brewers end a nearly four-decade postseason drought.
2008 began a streak of five straight All-Star seasons, culminating in winning MVP honors in 2011. He led the league with a .994 slugging percentage, with 33 home runs and 33 sacks. Milwaukee won the NL Central for the first time in franchise history.
But just two seasons later, MLB suspended Braun for the entire season after he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) during his 2011 MVP campaign. Braun failed a testosterone test in 2011 and in 2012 was associated with the Biogenesis of America clinic, a facility known for supplying PEDs to athletes. Braun tried to cover up the fraud by claiming that the testing center had committed anti-Semitism. Nevertheless, despite a career 47.1 bWAR, 352 home runs, 216 stolen bases, MVP honors and six All-Star appearances, Milwaukee Brewers fans believe the black mark on his career during the 2011 season will keep him out of National Baseball. Unfortunately, 2011 could have ruined Ryan’s chances https://t.co/zqqOAjBeJ1

As a die-hard Brewers fan, Ryan Braun is not a Hall of Famer despite the steroid allegations. If Fielder didn’t make it, Braun definitely shouldn’t have made the squad. No offense, but neither of these guys should have made the squad. https://t.co/JgvdnvG1ef

Ryan Braun is easily the best player on this list.
However, none of them will succeed.

If Barry Bonds doesn’t come in, Braun doesn’t come in, I’m sorry

Ryan Braun would have had a chance if he hadn’t done PEDs.
— Adam Foster (@Afoster939) January 23, 2025
Without positive steroid tests, Ryan Braun would definitely have done it. Damn shame :/

Braun has no chance. Whenever

Ryan Braun remains the all-time brewer
Although Ryan Braun is unlikely to join the prestigious National Baseball Hall of Fame, he remains one of Milwaukee’s greatest brewers in franchise history. Braun played all 14 years of his MLB career with Milwaukee, collecting six 30-homer seasons, two 30-30 seasons and one 40-30 season. He led baseball in OPS twice and received MVP votes for seven seasons, including a win in 2011. Ranks in the top five among Milwaukee Brewers position players in bWAR (47.1), batting average (.296), slugging percentage (.532), OPS (.891), runs scored (1,080), RBI (1,154), hits ( 1,963), stolen bases (216), triples (49) and home runs (352), among others.
