For Ian Rapoport of NFL NetworkLove has a grade 1-2 medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain, which means he’ll “miss a few weeks, but not much longer.”

The Packers will face the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans over the next six weeks. The team’s week off won’t come until Week 10.

Love was injured when he was hit by two Eagles defenders on third down Friday night. He was in significant pain on the field and ultimately needed lend a hand to leave the field.

MCL injuries do not often require surgery. Love will have to rehab the injury until he regains enough stability and strength in his knee to return to the court.

The Packers entered the highly anticipated 2024 season with high expectations. Now 0-1, Matt LaFleur’s team must weather the storm without their star quarterback.

Current options to replace Love include Malik Willis, who was acquired in a trade with the Titans in tardy August, and Sean Clifford, who lost out on the backup quarterback deal but was kept on the practice squad. It’s unclear whether the Packers would consider adding a veteran quarterback.
