Sections Contract details for Packers sixth-round OT pick Travis Glover

The Green Bay Packers have officially acquired Travis Glover with a sixth-round draft pick. Above the Cap now has details on what Glover’s rookie deal will look like.

Glover earned a standard four-year rookie contract worth $4.191 million with a signing bonus of $171,380.

Glover will receive his full signing bonus up front, but from a salary cap perspective, that amount could be prorated over the life of the deal. In miniature, the maximum cap on this bonus in 2024 is just $42,845.

That prorated signing bonus plus a base salary of $795,000 represents Glover’s max this season at $837,845.

Going forward after 2024, the $42,845 cap hit from the prorated signing bonus will be booked by the Packers for all four years of the contract, and Glover’s base salary will also escalate each year.

In 2025, Glover’s base salary will be $960,000. In 2026, it will escalate to $1.075 million and in 2027 to $1.190 million.

Here’s what Glover’s hit will be each season:

2024: $837,845
2025: $1.002 million
2026: $1.117 million
2027: $1.232 million

Glover is a very experienced player out of the state of Georgia, a five-year starter and has nearly 4,200 career tackles under his belt, which will hopefully support him acclimate to the NFL game a little quicker. During his studies, Glover played both attacker and defender.

Given that it looks like first-round pick Jordan Morgan will start at left tackle while the Packers already have Rasheed Walker, I’m guessing Glover will start at right tackle. Depending on how he performs this summer, Glover could be anywhere from a developmental rookie to a potential bench attacker, a role that needs to be filled by Yosh Nijman in Carolina.

“I think it definitely helped him,” GM Brian Gutekunst said of Glover’s performance at the Senior Bowl. “I think it helps anyone whether you come from a Power 5 school or a small school, but I really think sometimes when you come from a small school you might have more questions about the level of competition and then you approach Senior Bowl and go up against these guys and prove that you’re a little bit, that can definitely help, yeah. In his case it happened.”
