Infusion of art

This annual celebration features guest artists creating large-scale murals, a chalk art contest, tours, exhibits, a makerspace and marketplace, and more. Come to the River Walk, see pretty drawings, and chat with artists. Chalk artists of all skill levels, children ages 10 and up, and adults are invited to participate in the chalk art contest by registering at the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. The theme for chalk art is Live Your Art!

Featured artists include muralists CJ Hungerman and Matthew Mederer (known as CoolDiscoRich), chalk artists Sharon Gaver and the Speece family (Sophia, Cecilia, Bella, Clare, Monica, Genevieve, and mom Beverly).

Other events include exhibits at the Rotary Botanical Gardens, Hedberg Public Library, the Janesville Art League Gallery at the Janesville Woman’s Club and Raven’s Wish, which will also feature interactive art. Try your hand at rock painting at the Olde Towne Mall on Saturday and Sunday, shop at the Downtown Sidewalk sale, take a guided walking tour of the downtown murals with Roaming Rich and watch a dance performance by No Limits LDA. The Rock County Historical Society will host art tours of the Lincoln-Tallman Museum and a presentation on 19th-century art and wine. The event will conclude Sunday with the Makers Market & Creator Space at the Olde Towne Mall and the presentation of chalk art contest awards.
