Tobias Myers set a career-high for strikeouts, Willy Adames, Gary Sanchez and William Contreras all hit home runs, and Devin Williams had a save. Their efforts solidified the Brew Crew as the only MLB team without a losing streak of four or more games this year.

Tobias Myers was on fire early in this game. Through three innings he recorded seven consecutive strikeouts, including one punch out looking where he painted the corner at an impressive 96 MPH. He ended up throwing six innings in this game, with the only run he allowed being a solo home run.
After Tobias Myers, it was Jared Koenig. He played two innings, allowed one run, and struck out a pair of batters. Then Devin Williams played an impressive ninth inning, in which he threw out 11 pitches (nine strikeouts). The Brewers pitching staff combined for 16 strikeouts.

A massive part of the Brewers’ offense Saturday night was home run ball. Willy Adames and Gary Sanchez hit back-to-back runs in the first inning. In the third inning, William Contreras broke an 0-20 plate deficit with a two-run shot from the opposite field. The final run came in the fourth inning when Joey Ortiz hit a double down the left-field line that scored Sal Frelick from first base.
The Milwaukee Brewers are the only MLB team not to have a losing streak of four or more games.
This year, the Brewers remain the only team in Major League Baseball without a losing streak of four or more games. They have had nine three-game losing streaks, but they have won each time and have not lost a fourth game in a row. Tobias Myers was asked about this impressive feat after the game and said, “We just never give up… We just always believe in ourselves and fight to the end, that’s for sure.”
The Brewers and Rockies will wrap up their three-game series on Sunday, September 8. Milwaukee’s magic number to win the division is now 10 games.
