Packers sections list 6 players who first reported injuries in Week 2 matchup with Colts

The Green Bay Packers listed six players — including quarterback Jordan Love — on the first injury report of Week 2.

Love, who is dealing with a knee injury, was the only player who did not take part in Wednesday’s practice. Four others, including two starters, were confined.

Here is the injury report:

CB Corey Ballentine (oblique): Limited
DL Kenny Clark (toe): Limited
LB Edgerrin Cooper (knee): Full participation
RB Josh Jacobs (back): Limited
RB MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring): Limited
QB Jordan Love (knee): Did not participate

The Packers are still leaving the door open for Love, even though Malik Willis is being groomed to be the starting quarterback. Coach Matt LaFleur said Love could play without practice as long as he is cleared by doctors and has enough confidence in his knee to play.

Five of the injuries listed on the Packers’ injury report are fresh. Lloyd’s only prior injury was a hamstring strain. The rookie was inactive for the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles but could make his NFL debut this week as the No. 3 pick.

Injuries to Jacobs, the quarterback, and Clark, a key defender up front, will play a key role this week.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Colts named five players whose names appeared on the injury report:

S Julian Blackmon (shoulder): Did not participate
DL DeForest Buckner (back): Did not participate
WR Josh Downs (ankle): Limited
K Matt Gay (hernia): Full participation
DE Kwity Paye (hamstring): Did not participate

Blackmon, Buckner and Paye are the starters for Gus Bradley’s defense, which gave up 29 points in a Week 1 loss to the Houston Texans.

The Packers and Colts will release two consecutive injury reports: an update on Thursday and a final injury report with status determination on Friday.
