Milwaukee Brewers: Bryse Wilson brutally sincere about 4-3 loss to Cincinnati Reds

The Milwaukee Brewers saw their winning streak end Sunday with a 4-3 loss in the final game of the series on the road to the Cincinnati Reds. Before that, the Brewers had been on cruise control, winning five games in a row.

The Brewers lost the finale after reliever Bryse Wilson singled in the 11th inning to Santiago Espinal, allowing Rece Hinds to score the game-winning run.

Hinds was placed on second base as the designated runner at the top of the inning. He managed to reach third base after Will Benson was pulled from the game on a groundout. Noelvi Marte was supposed to bat at that point, but the Reds moved on Espinal as the pinch hitter, a decision that paid off handsomely for the Reds.

Wilson obviously wasn’t ecstatic with how things turned out for him and the Brewers.

“The score sucks,” Wilson said after the game, according to the Associated Press (source: ESPN).

“I was happy with everything I did. Just move on, play the game tomorrow.”

The Reds took a 2-0 lead after scoring the first two runs of the second inning. The Brewers finally got going in the third and tied the score at 2-2 when Willy Adames hit a solo home run that sailed 400 feet in the fourth. Both teams scored in the fifth inning and the score was tied 3-3 until Espinal made everyone call it a night in extra innings.
