Green County Cheese Days

The Midwest’s oldest food festival! Located in Historic Courthouse Square in downtown Monroe since 1914. Celebrating the cheesemaking, dairy farming, and Swiss traditions that are deeply rooted in the heritage of this region. Get ready to yodell, polka, and eat cheese by the truckload.

Highlights of the weekend include yodeling and alphorn playing, established cheesemaking in copper kettles, delicious festival food (deep-fried cheese curds, cheesecake on a stick, gourmet grilled cheese), live music on three stages, and the only parade in Wisconsin led by a herd of Brown Swiss cows.

Plus: a beer garden, craft and commercial stalls, street performers, a vintage tractor exhibit, a children’s parade, Cheese Days races, the Family Farm Adventure Tent, Kid’s Street and much more.
