The early season is a real bounty of bass

If you think you’re in shallow enough water, you’re probably still fishing too deep. I’ve caught countless bass this time of year within 6 inches of shore in less than a foot of water. The shallower the water, the faster it warms up, especially in the south-facing bays, since they get the most direct sunlight. I guess you could say they’re like us. After a long, frosty winter, the first few days of toasty weather are what we crave.
