The DNR told Wisconsin Natural Resources Board members that the agency plans to send four statewide fishing questions that were included in the DNR’s spring hearing questionnaire, but one board member suggested holding off on the early opening of the muskie season in northern Wisconsin.
The public supported the earlier opening when presented with the question on the spring hearing questionnaire, but some Conservation Congress and Natural Resources Board members are concerned that an earlier opening would put too much pressure on spawning muskies.
