Packers sections rule QB Jordan Love and CB Jaire Alexander ineligible to play against Vikings in Week 4

The Green Bay Packers listed quarterback Jordan Love (knee) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (quad, groin) as questionable to play in their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Like last week, Love practiced on a narrow basis on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Alexander was narrow on Wednesday and Thursday with a quadriceps injury, then missed Friday’s practice with an additional groin injury.

LaFleur said “we’ll see” about Love’s status for Sunday and admitted he’s “worried” about a player like Alexander missing Friday’s practice.

Love missed consecutive games after suffering a knee injury earlier in the season. Backup Malik Willis, who led the Packers to victories over the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, will start for the third straight game if Love is unable to play on Sunday.

If he can, Alexander believes he will play a key role in stopping All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson. The Vikings also select Jordan Addison in the first round of the 2023 draft after suffering an ankle injury.

The Packers also ruled linebacker Carrington Valentine questionable and rookie offensive lineman Jordan Morgan is out for the second straight game with a shoulder injury.

Valentine’s injury could worsen the defensive issues if Alexander is unable to play. Corey Ballentine would be next in line to start alongside Eric Stokes if Alexander and Valentine were not available.

The Vikings ruled linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. out on the final injury report.
