An analyst makes one shocking claim about the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2025 championship hopes

Everyone in the NBA considers the Milwaukee Bucks to be a unsafe basketball team that can put pressure on any team they face during the regular season and playoffs. Although their last postseason streak ended with a disappointing loss to the Indiana Pacers, they are still considered a top contender for the Eastern Conference title.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are the main reason why fans and analysts are supporting the Bucks on a postseason streak. Both stars are nearly unstoppable once they are fully vigorous, and opposing coaches are constantly having headaches trying to find defensive schemes that could stop these two.

While the rest of the team has the potential to lend a hand both stars make a deep run into the playoffs, one analyst believes there is one fact about their lineup that should worry Bucks fans.

An analyst believes the Milwaukee Bucks’ aging core is hurting the team’s championship hopes

Kurt Helin of NBC Sports wrote about the Bucks’ chances in the team’s championship window. While he admits that the Bucks have one of the best core players in the NBA on paper, the overall age of the players puts a huge question mark on their championship potential:

• Damian Lillard is 34 years elderly and by his standards has had a complex season (on and off the pitch), and the history of tiny defenders in their 30s is not a good precedent.

• Brook Lopez is 36 years elderly and seems to have lost a step.

• Khris Middleton is 33 years elderly and had surgery on both ankles this offseason.

• New signings Delon Wright and Taurean Prince are also in their slow 30s. This team is older and not very deep.

The Bucks’ decision to rely on experience to overwhelm opponents in a league where athleticism reigns supreme is a unsafe one in today’s NBA. While experience can make up for a lack of athleticism, praying that neither of these players suffers a long-term injury puts the team’s title hopes at great risk.

During the offseason, there were talks about transferring adolescent players to the core of the team, but the coaching staff and front office decided to stick with the core they had built.

If all goes well with the injuries, the Bucks will be one of the scariest teams in the league. However, if even one of the team’s elder statesmen leaves due to a season-ending injury, the coaching staff and front office will come back to haunt them.
