Devin Williams may have tilted his pitches in the Brewers Wild Card Series loss

Devin Williams, the Milwaukee Brewers’ elite closer, had one of the worst innings of his huge league career at the worst possible time. On Thursday night in the Wild Card Series elimination game, the New York Mets gave him four earned runs, during which Pete Alonso gave them the lead with three home runs. After this breakdown, there were rumors that he was changing his mind.

Where did the rumor come from that Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams was tipping his odds against the New York Mets?

Speculations on the subject Devin Williams the tilting of his pitches appears to come from Jomboy Media. Creator James O’Brien had this theory, brought it up to one of his colleagues and former MLB player Trevor Plouffe, and provided a video to prove his point.

According to Jomboy, a few things were noticeably different about Williams’ positioning on the mound when throwing the fastball compared to the changeup. Glove position was the biggest thing mentioned, where when throwing the heater, Williams’ glove was slightly higher and his hand was deeper into the glove. After the change, the glove was lower and his hand was not as deep in the glove.

No football club has come out and said that Williams is tilting their pitches, but Jombo, in his seven-minute video that suggests he was lip-reading, Mets pointed out the subtle differences mentioned above.
