Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney secured a 5-for-5 start to the 2024 season on Sunday. One interception after recovering from the fumble, McKinney made his fifth interception of the 2024 season on a deep throw by Matthew Stafford on third-and-10.
McKinney, a free agent acquisition from the New York Giants, now has an interception in each of his first five games with the Packers, which once again sets a team record after breaking it last week.
On third down, Karl Brooks’ pressure on Stafford’s face forced an errant down throw, and McKinney was in prime position to catch the ball.

5️⃣ straight games with an interception for Xavier McKinney!! An unrealistic start in the UK for the safety of five-year-olds.

McKinney previously intercepted Jalen Hurts, Anthony Richardson, Will Levis and Sam Darnold through the first four weeks. He went 5-for-5 against Stafford on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
According to Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s official website, McKinney is the first NFL player since 1970 to throw an interception in each of his first five games with the team.
X did it.
He is the first #Packers player who ever had an INT in his first five games with the team.
Since the 1970 merger, McKinney is the only NFL player to have an INT in each of his first five games with the team.
Tied with Irv Comp for five consecutive games in team history (1943).

The Packers currently have 14 wins to go, the most in the NFL, and McKinney is responsible for six of the 14.
McKinney’s two third-quarter takeaways led to a pair of touchdowns by Tucker Kraft. The Packers, who trailed 13-7 after Jordan Love’s six, now lead 24-13 after scoring 17 straight points.
