Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs reportedly plans to return to practice on Wednesday after a productive meeting with the team on Monday. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that he looks forward to Doubs returning on Wednesday.
The Packers suspended Doubs for Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams after he missed practice on Thursday and Friday last week.
LaFleur said Sunday that he expects to have an opportunity to talk to Doubs on Monday, and the Packers expect him to join the team this week after his suspension.
The Packers waived linebacker Robert Rochell on Monday, clearing a roster spot for Doubs, who is expected to be reinstated.
Doubs completed 12 of 20 targets for 169 yards and no touchdowns in the first four weeks.
On Sunday, without Doubs and Christian Watson (ankle injury), the Packers played their main four receivers in Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath.
Doubs led the Packers’ receiving corps in snaps played through the first four weeks. About 81 percent of the offensive snaps were on the field.
The Packers will begin installing the Cardinals game plan on Wednesday. LaFleur’s team hosts the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field on Sunday at noon.
