Like many other basketball fans, Milwaukee Bucks superstar point guard Damian Lillard was surprised to see father-son duo LeBron James and Bronny James on the court at the same time during Sunday’s preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Bronny James. Phoenix Suns.
“I wasn’t lying so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” Lillard captioned an Instagram story showing LeBron and Bronny together on the court.
LeBron, who turns 40 in December, still looked fantastic for a man his age. The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player scored 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the floor, and also had five rebounds, four assists and two blocks in just 16 minutes of play. However, Bronny wasn’t very productive as he missed his only field goal attempt and ended up with zero points while turning the ball over four times, but had two rebounds in 13 minutes of play.
The Milwaukee Bucks lose in their first preseason game
Like the Lakers, Lillard and the Bucks suffered a preseason loss on Sunday, with Milwaukee losing on the road to the Detroit Pistons 120-87. Lillard started the game and played 17 minutes, finishing with 15 points, making 5 of 10 shots from the floor and adding four assists, two rebounds and a steal.
Bobby Portis led the Bucks with 16 points off the bench. It’s worth noting, however, that the Bucks faced the Pistons without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who will have another chance to play next Thursday when they host LeBron and the Lakers.
Milwaukee will open the 2024-25 NBA regular season on October 23 against the away Philadelphia 76ers.
