On Tuesday, October 8, the Milwaukee Brewers announced the release of Minor League players. That group included left-handed pitcher Adam Seminaris. He was one of three pitchers acquired in the 2022-23 offseason deal that sent Hunter Renfroe to the Los Angeles Angels.
Adam Seminaris was released by the Milwaukee Brewers.
For two Minor League seasons with the Brewers, Adam Seminaris struggled for success. He acted solely as a starting pitcher in 2023 and had a 5.70 ERA in 12 starts in Double-A. He started in and out of the bullpen this year, but his ERA rose to 6.15 in 74.2 innings pitched. Seminaris will turn 26 in a few weeks and it may be arduous for him to find a fresh organization willing to sign him.
Elvis Peguero is the only player in the Brewers organization who was involved in the Hunter Renfroe trade.
In exchange for Hunter Renfroe, the Brewers received Elvis Peguero, Adam Seminaris and Janson Junk. Of that group, Peguero is the only player still with Milwaukee, and his ERA has been 3.20 over the last two seasons. Janson Junk was designated for assignment earlier this year, the Houston Astros claimed him off waivers, and he ultimately suffered the same fate before being dealt to the Oakland Athletics organization in overdue August.
Where does Hunter Renfroe currently play?
Since leaving Milwaukee to join the Angels, Hunter Renfroe has also worked with the Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals. He was one of several players released by Los Angeles in 2023 and briefly joined the Reds in their quest for a playoff berth. Ultimately, Cincinnati designated him for assignment before the seasons ended, he committed to the Kansas City Royals in the offseason, and is currently playing in the American League Divisional Series.
