It’s no secret that former Wisconsin basketball star Sam Dekker is a huge Milwaukee Brewers fan. That’s why he was one of the happiest men in the world on Wednesday when the Brewers made a dramatic comeback attack Victory 5:3 in the second match National League Wild Card Round Series against the New York Mets at home.

Newbie brewer Jackson Chourio he came through for his team in the second game, when his eighth-inning home run tied the score at 3-3. Earlier in the first inning, he also scored a home run, which tied the score at 1-1. Garrett Mitchell made sure Chourio’s great performance wouldn’t go to waste when he hit a two-run home run later in the eighth frame to put Milwauee ahead.
Dekker, who played for Wisconsin basketball from 2012 to 2015, was so impressed with Chourio’s performance on the court that he compared the 20-year-old star to Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokoumpo.
“It’s weird to explain, but Chourio has the same focus as Giannis,” Dekker shared on X (formerly Twitter). “I just went in with a laser, no matter what.”
Chourio, who hit .275/.327/.464 with 21 home runs in the regular season, will be able to add more to his growing legend next Thursday as the Brewers look to post a win in their win over the Mets .
