Wisconsin Football hosts Big 2026 WR Blaise LaVista for a game day visit

The Wisconsin football staff hosted the talented and speedy winger from Illinois during their victory over the Purdue Boilermakers.

Blaise LaVista2026 winger from Libertyville, was present during the team’s gigantic victory Purdue Boiler Manufacturers team. LaVista currently has three scholarship offers from Akron, Marshall and Toledo, but is hoping to earn an offer from the Wisconsin football staff.

LaVista said the recruiting process has gone “pretty well” so far, but it can also be quite “stressful” at times. Currently, recruits take this process day by day and wait for “a few to hit” when gigantic programs spot a wide receiver. LaVista expects to receive increased scholarship offers in the future as he continues to excel on the field.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing around 600 pounds, LaVista’s talented receiver can do a lot for his team. However, his greatest talent is definitely the separation he is able to create against the first line of defense. In a single coverage situation, LaVista can often lose his defender and quickly find space for his point guard.

The wide receiver is currently averaging double-digit reception coverage and is also known for finding the end zone with ease. A season ago, LaVista scored a total of 15 touchdowns and seemed to really be on the radar of many gigantic programs.

When asked about Wisconsin, LaVista stated, “Wisconsin showed a lot of interest, which was huge because it’s one of my top schools.” LaVista added that Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Ole Miss have also been very interested in recruiting recently.

To properly run an air raid attack, a team needs a combination of a capable playmaker and talented, quick wingers.

The Wisconsin football staff worked to secure both players in the 2026 recruiting class and quickly fell in love with LaVista’s game. The wide winger is quick and his quick feet make it complex for many defenders to keep up with him. The speed power that LaVista adds to the offense could be something the Wisconsin football staff figures out and uses.

However, before the staff can do this, they must first gain support from a talented winger. While LaVista considers Wisconsin one of his top schools, the wide receiver has added several key aspects to the program he is looking for.

LaVista stated, “When talking to teams, I try to understand the coaching styles and energy of the staff. For me, the atmosphere is also huge.”

The recruit will likely take his time and watch the entire process before making a decision about his future college.
