Natural Resources Board (NRB) Chairman Bill Smith, a Washburn County resident, attended open houses in Douglas and Washburn counties as part of the spring hearing process that resulted in open houses being held for the first time.
In Washburn County, Larry Damman, vice chairman of the Environmental Protection Congress, introduced Smith and asked for comment on the congressional role.
