Potential Wisconsin basketball starting lineup for the game Basketball 2024 the season was compiled by a college basketball analyst.
Jon Rothstein, college basketball analyst CBS Sports he tweeted a conversation he had with Wisconsin Badgers coach Greg Gard. The coach said forwards Nolan Winter and Steven Crowl would start playing alongside each other “if the season were today.” Gard also stated that he expects John Blackwell and Max Klesmit to perform well this season, leaving one spot in the table.
The presumptive quarterback this season is true freshman Daniel Freitag, who has been a monster throughout camp. Freitag is an wise and athletic player who always finds a way to break through the opponent’s defense. The guard has had great success at the high school level and is expected to easily take the next step in the competition.
Greg Gard told me that if the season started today, Nolan Winter would be Wisconsin’s starter alongside Steven Crowl.
He also mentioned that he expects Max Klesmit to be a double-digit scorer this season, alongside Crowl and John Blackwell.

If Freitag failed to secure a starting position, the team’s favorite Kamari McGee would be next in line. The defender missed the entire season last year due to injury, and the spark he brought off the bench was lost in his absence. McGee finds ways to support the team that don’t always show up in the stats but still provide value to the team.
McGee was previously a starter for UW-Green Bay in the 2021-2022 season, where he played in 21 games. The guard averaged 11.6 points, 1.1 steals and 1.9 assists for Green Bay before moving to the Wisconsin Badgers bench.
What impact could Nolan Winter starting have on the Wisconsin basketball team?
Although Winter is not yet a confirmed starter according to Gard himself, the striker has a lot to offer the team.
Winter played in all 36 games last season and averaged 9.4 minutes per game off the bench for the Badgers. Winter scored 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game for the Wisconsin Badgers and quickly became the starter off the bench. The lively large man stands nearly 7 feet statuesque and has worked to develop his shooting skills from beyond the arc.
The forward didn’t really have the opportunity to open up his offensive arsenal for the Wisconsin Badgers in his first college season last year. However, Winter could do so if he started alongside Crowl, who offered a complementary playing style. Winter is a large man, but still not the most physical player, which will need to be improved this season to keep his starting position intact.
