One of Wisconsin’s most legendary spots, the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward, has lost some of its luster with the death of famed fishing guide Dave Dorazio.
Dorazio grew up at a resort known as the Arrow Resort, which was owned by his parents and overlooked Dorazio Bay. He started as a guide at age 13 and has worked on run-of-river lakes and other areas for over 50 years. He was one of the first in the area to promote the idea of catch-and-release muskie fishing. In 2019, he was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.
