How much money do the Milwaukee Bucks still have to pay Khris Middleton?

There’s no denying the impact Khris Middleton had in helping the Milwaukee Bucks win their first ring. The thing is, the franchise will now have to pay the All-Star wing a significant amount, which is a challenge right now as the player regularly gets injured.

Despite his talent and contributions, Middleton struggled with injury problems, only playing in 88 games last 164 regular season games. Last season in 55 games he averaged 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists, shooting an impressive 49.3% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc. His playoff performance wasn’t phenomenal, however, as the Bucks were eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers.

In the offseason, Middleton underwent arthroscopic surgery on both ankles, which he hopes will allow him to prepare for a healthier season. If he can return to form, he could justify the financial investment the Bucks made in him. Historically, Middleton has averaged 16.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in his career, showing his importance to the team.

As the Bucks prepare for the upcoming season, Middleton’s health and performance will be crucial. With championship aspirations on the line, the pressure is on for him to perform, especially in a lineup that is looking to make the playoffs deeper this year.

Khris Middleton remains a key figure for the Milwaukee Bucks, but the team has significant financial obligations to him. This is detailed in an article written by Ben Stinar for Sports Illustrated.

“Middleton has at least one more year left agreement which will give him $31.7 million for the 2024-25 NBA season. He then has a player option for the 2025-26 season for $34 million. Therefore, the three-time NBA All-Star is potentially owed another $66 million by the Bucks,” Stinar wrote.

Middleton will have a significant impact on the Milwaukee Bucks in the upcoming 2024-25 season after successfully recovering from surgeries on both ankles. Despite a challenging last season in which he only played 33 games, Middleton showed his potential in the playoffs, averaging 24 points.

The health of the All-Star winger will be crucial as the Bucks look to compete for a championship alongside stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. If he can continue his good form, Middleton could play a key role in the Bucks’ bid for another title.
