The Green Bay Packers listed linebacker Quay Walker, center Josh Myers and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt as questionable and linebacker Corey Ballentine as questionable on the final injury report ahead of their Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
How will the injury affect Sunday’s clash?
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report heading into Week 8:
Doubtful (1)
CB Corey Ballentine (ankle): The veteran cornerback and special teams team didn’t practice all week, which suggests he has little chance of playing. Ballentine has played over 60 percent of the special teams snaps this season. The Packers have three running backs on the practice squad who will have depth issues on Sunday: rookies Kalen King and Kamal Hadden and veteran Robert Rochell.
Doubtful (3)
C Josh Myers (wrist): Big to look at. Myers did not practice Wednesday and had confined practice on Thursday and Friday. A wrist injury can be grave for a player who messes up the ball every game. Elgton Jenkins was the main reserve at the start of the 2024 season, so it is likely that – in the event Myers is unable to play – Jenkins will play at center, with Sean Rhyan and Jordan Morgan filling the two defensive positions.
DL Devonte Wyatt (ankle): The breakout inside linebacker could return after missing the last three games. Wyatt, who has 3.0 sacks in his first four games, practiced on a confined basis all three days this week. His return would likely mean fewer opportunities for Karl Brooks, but it’s possible the Packers will ease Wyatt back into the game on Sunday. Against Trevor Lawrence, the Packers defense needs to break down the pocket.
LB Quay Walker (concussion): After missing Wednesday’s practice, Walker returned and had confined appearances on both Thursday and Friday. He’s still recovering from a concussion, but two straight days of practice is a good sign he’s available. He will have another two days to clear the final hurdles. If Walker can’t do that, the Packers have veterans Eric Wilson and Isaiah McDuffie and rookies Edgerrin Cooper and Ty’Ron Hopper to handle snaps at linebacker.
No status indication
The following players do not have a status designation and will be available to play Sunday against the Jaguars: CB Jaire Alexander, DL Kenny Clark, OL Elgton Jenkins, CB Keisean Nixon, WR Jayden Reed, WR Christian Watson and DL Colby Wood.
Jaguar injury report
Defensive lineman Arik Armstead, tight end Evan Engram and receiver Gabe Davis will play, but the Jaguars have listed six players as questionable: running back Travis Etienne (hamstring), linebacker Foye Oluokun (foot), defensive tackle Esezi Otomewo (calf), offensive tackle Cam Robinson (concussion), defensive tackle Maason Smith (ankle) and safety Andrew Wingard (knee). Everyone except Smith practiced Friday. Oluokun and Wingard are expected to return from injured reserve.
