MRI section reveals minor groin strain of Packers QB Jordan Love

According to reports, an MRI performed on Jordan Love’s fresh injury on Monday revealed a subtle groin strain NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Green Bay Packers quarterback is expected to undergo treatment and be monitored throughout the week, but a earnest injury has been ruled out at this time.

For NFL Network’s Tom PelisseroLove is considered every day and will still have a chance for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

Love was injured on the first drive of the Packers’ victory over Jacksonville. After a long play in which he threw downfield, climbing to the right side, he performed poorly. Love remained in the game for the next two quarters, but his movement was severely restricted and the Packers eventually removed him after being hit on a throw early in the second half.

The Packers will play the Lions on Sunday at Lambeau Field in a large NFC North battle. Even if Love practices in any capacity this week, he will likely make a game-time decision on Sunday. Green Bay’s bye week falls in Week 10, so if Love sits out Sunday, he’ll have a full three weeks to recover before the Nov. 17 game against the Chicago Bears.

The Packers’ backup quarterback is Malik Willis, who won both of his starts behind Love earlier in the season and led the winning streak on Sunday in Jacksonville.

Love missed starts in weeks two and three while recovering from a sprained MCL in his left knee.

Coach Matt LaFleur is scheduled to address the media later Monday. He will likely be able to confirm that Love has avoided a long-term injury.

The Packers are also waiting for test results for cornerback Jaire Alexander, who suffered a knee injury delayed in the game on Sunday. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Alexander will also undergo an MRI on Monday.
