Tracking Chinook movement is one aspect of an ongoing mass Great Lakes tagging program in partnership with nearly a dozen state and federal agencies in five states. Up to 20 people work during the open water fishing season on Lakes Huron and Michigan.
Chuck Bronte, fisheries biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Green Bay Fish and Wildlife Conservation office, discussed the program’s findings at a recent regional workshop on Lake Michigan Ludington.
