Packers sections call QB Jordan Love’s Week 9 game against the Lions questionable

The Green Bay Packers believe that quarterback Jordan Love will not play in Sunday’s NFC North game against the Detroit Lions.

Love, who suffered a groin injury in last week’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, missed Wednesday’s practice but returned to practice on a constrained basis on Thursday and Friday this week.

“It will be a question mark,” coach Matt LaFleur said Friday.

Love was previously listed as questionable in weeks three and four after suffering an MCL injury. He sat out the Packers’ victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, but returned to the game during the Packers’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.

“We’ll give him time until the game to see how he feels,” LaFleur said.

Earlier in the week, Love said he wanted to be able to get in and out of the pocket to play on Sunday. His constrained mobility and inability to protect himself were the reasons he didn’t finish last week’s win over the Jaguars, even though he played about two quarters after suffering an injury.

Love’s backup is Malik Willis, who started the season with a 2-0 record and Love was sidelined. He led the Packers on a game-winning drive in Jacksonville last week.

Inactive players should arrive 90 minutes before kickoff, so the next Love update will appear on Sunday around 1:55 PM CST. The Packers and Lions game will tip off at Lambeau Field at 3:25 p.m
