Sections Packers RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) is expected to play against the Lions

The Green Bay Packers will have both a quarterback and a running back at their disposal during Sunday’s NFC North clash with the Detroit Lions. Not only will Jordan Love play after suffering a groin injury, but running back Josh Jacobs is also expected to play after suffering an ankle injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Jacobs suffered an ankle injury last Sunday during the Packers’ victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He missed Wednesday’s training, but was sure he would cope with the injury and play on Sunday. Jacobs had confined practice on both Thursday and Friday.

“I’ll be ready for the game,” Jacobs said Wednesday.

The Packers listed both Love and Jacobs as questionable.

Jacobs rushed 145 times for 667 yards and three touchdowns while catching 17 passes for 115 yards and another touchdown in eight games this season, his first in Green Bay. Jacobs is averaging 83.4 rushing yards per game and nearly 100 total yards per game.

Rainy conditions at Lambeau Field on Sunday will likely force the Packers to focus on Jacobs and the running game. Will he be able to score sturdy against the Lions? According to PFF, Jacobs ranks second in yards after contact and fourth in tackles forced.

The Packers have a bye in Week 10, so both Love and Jacobs will have time to recover next Sunday.

Inactive players report to the match 90 minutes before Sunday’s start. While Love and Jacobs are expected to play, less is known about the status of center Josh Myers (wrist, questionable) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee, questionable).
