Right-handed pitcher, according to the Brewers Kevin Herget was picked up by the New York Mets and left-handed pitcher Rob Zastrynzy was picked up by the Chicago Cubs. In 2024, 33-year-old Kevin Herget had a few tiny stints in Milwaukee during which he ultimately threw 11.1 substantial league innings, had an ERA of 1.59 and recorded one save. Rob Zastrynzy pitched less in the substantial leagues, threw 7.2 innings in MLB, had an ERA of 1.17, but his season was cut tiny due to elbow tendonitis.

Milwaukee also announced that two players were waived and unclaimed. Right-handed swinger Bryse Wilson and first baseman/designated hitter Jake Bauers have now been removed from the 40-man roster. The roster deal reads “direct to Triple-A,” but according to the Brewers, Curt Hogg and Adam McCalvy have clarified that Bryse Wilson and Jake Bauers are now free agents.

Why did the Milwaukee Brewers make these moves?

One reason the Brewers made this move is because players on the 60-day injured list had to be reinstated to the 40-man roster by Monday night. To activate players like Christian Yelich, Oliver Dunn, Brandon Woodruff, JB Bukauskas and Robert Gasser, they had to clear some space on the 40-man roster.
