FRIDAY NIGHT BLITZ: Bay Port, Notre Dame and Wrightstown Book Trips to Camp Randall

Six teams from the Fox Valley came to Friday night with Madison in mind.

When the evening is over, three of them will fight for the title at Camp Randall.

In Division 1Bay Port jumped out to a 14-0 lead over DC Everest and never relinquished that lead, winning 34-24.

They will travel to Madison for the second time in school history, and the last time they played for the title was in 2019 when they fell miniature.

“This group of seniors wanted to be a group that would be an example for the future in Bay Port and wanted to leave a legacy and I think they are taking that step by step, being only the second team from Bay Port to be able to say that,” said the head coach Pirates freshman Steven Jorgensen.

The Pirates will face Muskego for the D1 state title on Friday, November 22 at 4 p.m.

“We have 48 more minutes with this football team, we have 48 more minutes with these seniors. We’ll try to make history against one of the best programs in the state. We will leave everything on the pitch for 48 minutes and try to be the last one on the pitch. That’s the goal. We’re going to attack him with everything we have,” Jorgensen said.

In Division 3after falling to a level 4 against Rice Lake last year, the Notre Dame Academy Tritons made sure they didn’t lose again.

La Crosse Logan scored first, but Christian Collins outscored them. The Tritons’ star running back scored five touchdowns and won 41-21.

Notre Dame Academy will face Catholic Monument on Friday, November 22 at 10 a.m. for the D3 state title.

In Division 5, Earlier this year, Wrightstown said it was “state title or bust” and after losing last year, they would have a chance to compete for it again.

Wrightstown jumped out to a 14-0 lead over Northwestern before they could blink, and from there they won 47-16.

They return to state for the second year in a row, the first time in school history.

Senior QB Trevor Vande Hey scored four touchdowns (2 passing, 2 rushing).

On Thursday, November 21, at 4:00 p.m., the Tigers team will play against Stratford for the Golden Ball.
