Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love practiced fully all week and will play injury-free against the Chicago Bears in Week 11 of the 2024 season. Love first suffered a knee injury in Week 1 and missed two games, and suffered a minor injury in Week 8 a groin injury that restricted him in Week 9. After saying goodbye, Love appears to have put both injuries behind him. He will start for the eighth time this season on Sunday at Soldier Field (noon, FOX).
Jordan Love injury update
Love practiced at full capacity on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week and is not listed as a player for Sunday’s game in Chicago. He previously played against the Detroit Lions in Week 9 despite being deemed questionable with a groin injury. The Packers believe Love will be more correct and mobile now that his knee and groin injuries are mostly healed after the bye.
What does this mean for Jordan Love?
Two vigorous legs and a full week of practice should give the Packers the best version of Love to move forward. His mobility was restricted both inside and outside the pocket on longer plays. Due to two injuries, Love missed at least a full month of practice in the week leading up to the games. That’s a tough combination for a youthful starter. Improved movement skills and a full week of reps could mean Love is closer to the top 10 passes he was projected to complete last season.
Jordan Love stats
In seven starts, Love completed 147 of 240 passes (61.3 percent) for 1,820 yards (7.6 per attempt), 15 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. His passing grade is 88.2. He threw multiple touchdown passes in each of his first five starts, but also had an interception in all seven of his starts. His accuracy was sometimes spotty. While he is great at keeping pristine pockets, the pressure has taken a huge toll on him, likely due to injuries and restricted mobility.
Who is the Packers backup QB?
Love is vigorous and it will start, but the Packers have a capable backup in Malik Willis, who led Matt LaFleur’s team to two wins as a starter and helped the Packers engineer a winning drive in Jacksonville. Willis completed nearly 75 percent of his passes and averaged 9.7 yards per attempt while throwing three touchdown passes with no interceptions. His passing grade is 130.3. Willis also ran for 137 yards and a touchdown.
