All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been on a scorching streak lately as the Milwaukee Bucks improve their record in the league. This led to the NBA naming him Player of the Week, and Damian Lillard reacted to the honor.
Antetokounmpo once again made headlines when he was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for outstanding performance in Week 5 of the 2024–25 NBA season. This recognition comes after a remarkable run during which he led his team to four straight wins. The announcement was made by NBA Communications and marks the first time this season that a Bucks player has received this honor.

Milwaukee started its streak with a narrow victory over the Houston Rockets, followed by decisive victories over the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets. Giannis exceeded 30 points in each of those games, demonstrating his ability to dominate on the court.
In the win over the Bulls, Antetokounmpo scored an impressive 41 points, along with nine rebounds and eight assists. He then recorded a triple-double against the Pacers in which he recorded 37 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. To finish the week, he added 32 points, 11 rebounds and six assists against the Hornets, solidifying his status as one of the league’s elite players.

After a complex start to the season, the Greek oddball led the team to a resurgence, winning six of their last seven matches. His growing chemistry with Lillard was a key factor in this change. Milwaukee is currently 8-9 and in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with the potential to continue to improve.
As the season progresses, the All-Star forward continues to impress, averaging 32.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. His remarkable 60.8% accuracy percentage places him among the best players in the league. As the team looks to build on its recent success, fans are eagerly anticipating its performances in upcoming games, including the matchup against Miami Heat.
