Head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks Dr. Rivers he’s sure his team will face the Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs sometime in the future. He hopes that by then his team will be better prepared to defeat the defending champions.
The Milwaukee Bucks have work to do, as they are on a two-game losing streak after Friday’s 111-105 loss, and they lost to the Boston Celtics on an underdog in the regular season.
“We assume we’re in a match with them now, but we haven’t beaten them and we really believe we have a long break ahead of us where we’ll be better.” Doc Rivers said, via Tim Bontemps of ESPN. “We will be much better, they will be a little better, but we will be a lot better.”
“So we’re hoping to play them again in the delayed rounds in the playoffs and see how everything goes. But right now they are the champions and until someone beats them, they are the champions,” he added.
The game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics felt like a playoff game in that it was close throughout. Milwaukee had its chances to win the game, but Boston did better later in the game.
Khris Middleton reacts to his season debut with the Milwaukee Bucks
The only positive that the Milwaukee Bucks can take from this match is the return of Khris Middleton to the court after a long break due to injury. Three-time NBA All-Star he came off the bench and dropped 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 2-of-10 from the field in 23 minutes of play.
This may not be the season debut Middleton expected, but he believes better things are yet to come as he continues to play more games with Milwaukee this year.
“I won’t talk about moral victories and so on, but it’s a great team. We want to get back to where they were last year and they’re trying to get back to where they were last year as well. So it’s about giving our all and trying to be the best team. I’m really not worried about anything else,” Middleton said.
