What are some summer festivals in Wisconsin?
From food to flower festivals, summer in Wisconsin is a celebration of hot weather and lots of sun. Here are a few summer festivals in Wisconsin that we enjoy attending each year:

  • Milwaukee Irish Fest, Milwaukee, WI: Even if you only have a wee bit of Irish ancestry (or even if you don’t) come celebrate in Milwaukee for this fun festival in August. People come from all over the country to join the party – it is even well-known in Ireland itself! Enjoy state-of-the-art and established Irish bands and musicians as you kick up your heels in a lively jig. Then, take in an Irish dancing competition or two to learn a few fancy moves.
  • Fairyfolk Festival, Sheboygan, WI: If you are looking for a fun event that adolescent kids will love, put on your fairy wings and fly to Sheboygan in August. Enter the magical Bookworm Gardens to enjoy enchanting stories while taking in the wonder of the botanical garden that is certainly home to many fine fairies. There are several themed gardens based on popular children’s books to explore. This is the perfect event to encourage a love of reading and the wonder of nature all in one fairy-filled festival.
  • Sunflower Festival, Merrill, WI: Helene’s Hilltop Orchard is the place to go if you love sunflowers. This overdue August to early September event celebrates the blooming sunflowers in its 2.5-acre sunflower field. Walk among the flowers, take pictures, and then, take a few home with you for your table. While you are there, partake in the “sip and see” wine-tasting event with live music and local wine. Make sure you save room for some sweet treats too, like the farm’s notable apple pies and apple dumplings.
