It’s unlikely Wisconsin football will receive a bowl invitation after failing to win at least six games in the 2024 college football season. But that doesn’t mean the team doesn’t have reasons to celebrate.
Take the quarterback for example Braedyn Lockewho celebrated his 20th birthday on Sunday. Wisconsin Badgers head coach Luke Fickell even greeted the whistleblower with a tiny but meaningful post on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter).

Locke had an uneven 2024 season – his second with the Badgers. In 11 games, Locke passed for 1,936 yards and 13 touchdowns against 10 interceptions while completing just 55.4 percent of his throws.
But he also had his moments during the season, including three touchdowns, although he lost 44-25 at the hands of the team Nebraska Cornhuskers away on November 23. He also had three touchdowns in a 52-6 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers at home in early October.
Braedyn Locke is staying with the Wisconsin football team amid transfer portal rumors
There were rumors that he would leave Wisconsin football via the transfer portal after a season-ending loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, but Locke quickly put them to rest.
“I’m very proud of this program,” said Locke, per Jesse Temple of The Athletic. “I love being a Badger. This place was special to me. I have a heart for every guy in this locker room. I love them to death. I would do anything for them. I put that on the line for our program every day. And I say this without a doubt. So yes, I love being here. I want to be here. It has been an absolute pleasure to be on the field nine Saturdays this fall. Something I will never forget. Regardless of the outcome, it was very, very special to me and I want to continue doing that.”
