Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided a series of health updates during his first Week 15 appearance on Monday.
On safety Javon Bullard, who is dealing with a fresh ankle injury: “I would say it’s happening more and more every week.” Bullard missed Thursday’s game against the Detroit Lions after suffering an injury during coverage. He was seen leaving the locker room on crutches, but it appears a grave, long-term injury is out of the question.
On safety Evan Williams, who suffered a concussion in Detroit: “He’s in the protocol now.” The rookie safety will have to clear protocol this week in order to play Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
It kicks in if receiver Romeo Doubs approved the concussion protocol: “He didn’t.” Doubs first suffered a concussion on November 24. He exercised on a circumscribed basis three times last week but still hasn’t passed the final stages of the protocol, which is a worrying sign.
To receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who fell strenuous at the end of a catch in Detroit: “Nothing happened to him.” The Packers never replaced Wicks with the injury in the game.
LaFleur was not given an update or asked about linebacker Jaire Alexander, defensive lineman Edgerrin Cooper or linebacker Corey Ballentine, who all missed last week’s loss in Detroit. Offensive lineman Jordan Morgan and tight end Luke Musgrave are also expected to come off injured reserve this week, but no updates on either player have been released.
The Packers will not hold an official practice or release the first injury report of the week until Wednesday.
