The Wisconsin Badgers are finally back in the win column. After three losses in a row, Wisconsin basketball emerged from the crisis, winning on Saturday at the Kohl Center in Madison 83-74 against the visiting Butler Bulldogs.
The No. 20 Badgers leaned heavily on the duo of sophomore forward Nolan Winter and senior Steven Crowl in their game against the Bulldogs. Winter led all Wisconsin basketball scorers with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field, along with eight rebounds, an assist and a block in 29 minutes of action.
Steven Crowl is back and helping Wisconsin basketball end the funk
Crowl, meanwhile, scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, adding six rebounds and an assist – all in just 17 minutes of work.
After the match Wisconsin is BTN Account X shared a post about Crowl’s great performance, which Winter retweeted with a caption that read: “Yea Steve💪💪”
Crowl certainly reacted appropriately to his disappointing performance in his previous outing at Wisconsin.
Wisconsin basketball entered Butler’s game following losses to the Michigan Wolverines, No. 5 Marquette Golden Eagles and the Illinois Fighting Illini. Crowley only scored nine points in the Illinois contest, and even more astonishing was the fact that he failed to grab a single rebound against the Fighting Illini despite playing 19 minutes and being seven feet high.
Wisconsin’s overall basketball record improved to 9-3 after Butler’s knockdown. The Badgers should take care of business in their next game, as they will face the Detroit Mercy Titans (No. 318 in the KenPom rankings) on December 22 at home.
