Eleven players were selected for the Texas Longhorns in the 2024 NFL Draft. They could match or even exceed that number in the 2025 draft. Let’s take a look at eight players who could be targets for the Green Bay Packers.
Alred Collins, DT
Collins, a former five-star recruit, looks like he could be part of a future wrecking ball. Collins plays with a lot of power and drives blockers back into the quarterback’s lap. He has the range to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage, and his motor is always running.
Barryn Sorrell, Edge
Sorrell tests his physique and athleticism. As a running back, he catches, throws and sets a tough edge. Sorrell has recorded 21 running stops this season, according to Pro Football Focus. The Texas pass rusher enters the matchup against Clemson with nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and 39 pressures.
Jahdae Barron, D.B
A year ago, Barron was one of the best slot defenders in the country. This season he has shown that he can survive on the border. Barron led the SEC in interceptions (5) and recorded nine pass deflections. He has explosive drive that allows him to get in front of the pigskin, and he has the wing ball skills of a receiver. He is a physical outfield defender and has balance as a striker.
Jake Majors, C
Majors enters the matchup with Clemson with 54 career starts at center for the Longhorns. Majors has increased awareness and understanding of security. Over the past two seasons, Majors has given up zero sacks and 20 pressures.
Trey Moore, Edge
At 245 pounds, Moore may be too featherlight for Green Bay’s liking. Moore can easily add five pounds without losing his explosive first step. The UTSA transfer recorded 3.5 sacks and 26 pressures.
Vernon Broughton, DT
At 6-5, 306 pounds, Broughton has the perfect NFL frame. The Texas defensive back has good initial quickness off the snap, allowing him to get onto the field quickly and disrupt the defense. Maintains edge and shows lateral quickness, allowing plays to be made up and down the line of scrimmage.
Matthew Golden, WR
With immediate acceleration, he goes beyond the line of scrimmage and finds second gear for a vertical win. He runs piercing routes and mixes the pace well to keep defenders off balance. Golden also brings value on special teams as a kick and punt returner.
Isaiah Bond, WR
The transfer from Alabama is a lively quarterback. The former track and field athlete is a vertical threat and can cover distance with his game-breaking speed. Bond is similar to Jayden Reed and having those two in the same offense would put a lot of pressure on the opposing defense.
