Something like a deathbed confession inspired Logan Hyrkas to organize a mountain deer hunt in the Panhandle region of Idaho during the first half of November.
The scorching tip went something like this: Hyrkas, 31, was talking to a customer in August 2016 while working at a car dealership in North Dakota. Hyrkas grew up in the compact town of Calumet in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, but moved out West because he loves mule deer hunting. As Hyrkas and the customer were swapping deer hunting stories that August day, the man stunned him by sharing the GPS coordinates of his favorite hunting spot in Idaho’s Panhandle.
