Sections Packers S Zayne Anderson scores his first career INT in his first career start

In his first career start in the National Football League, Green Bay Packers linebacker Zayne Anderson caught his first career interception.

With the New Orleans Saints leading in the third quarter, Anderson – who started at safety next to Xavier McKinney – made a quick interception of Spencer Rattler’s inbounds pass to keep the Packers ahead 24-0 on Monday night at Lambeau Field.

Anderson, now in his fourth NFL season, is playing his 32nd and 25th career games for the Packers. Anderson, primarily a special teams player, was pressed into service against the Saints, while Javon Bullard and Evan Williams were inactive due to injuries.

Anderson was not drafted out of BYU in 2021. He intercepted three passes in 50 games and six collegiate seasons.

Anderson isn’t the only former BYU player who made his first career start at Lambeau Field on Monday night. Running back Chris Brooks, who played for BYU in 2022, scored his first career touchdown in the first half.
