Milwaukee Breweries flamethrower Abner Uribe has been suspended by Major League Baseball for six games for his involvement in a mass bench-clearing brawl involving Jose Siri of the Tampa Bay Rays. Uribe appealed against the decision, but the day after the incident he was transferred to the lower leagues. According to reports, a decision has been made regarding a number of matches for which he will be suspended.
After moving to the lower leagues, Abner Uribe had to serve a MiLB suspension.
In July 2023, Abner Uribe was involved in a bench-clearing incident in the lower leagues. The dispute began between Cleveland Guardians prospect George Valera and Nashville Sounds catcher Alex Jackson, but Uribe was suspended once everything became clear. Days after his suspension, he was promoted to the top league for the first time in his career and ultimately had to serve a MiLB suspension following his demotion in April 2024.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy believes Abner Uribe’s suspension has been reduced to four games.
Todd Rosiak, a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, indicated that Abner Uribe’s suspension was reduced to four games. His source was manager Pat Murphy. There has been no official announcement from MLB regarding this matter.
Pat Murphy says that, to his knowledge, Abner Uribe’s suspension has been reduced from six games to four.
Now the Brewers need to figure out when it makes sense to bring him back, and whether they can handle not being a cager for that period.

When will Abner Uribe be called back to the gigantic leagues?
Since his demotion, Abner Uribe has had a sturdy showing in Triple-A. He appeared in six games, pitched 7.1 innings, allowed only one earned run and allowed seven hits. The biggest caveat is that he also walked six batters. Apart from maturity, one of the main reasons for his demotion was his inability to throw punches.
As Rosiak mentioned, the Brewers will have to pick a moment that makes sense to bring a man to his knees before calling on Uribe to return. In June, three out of four Thursdays are off. Otherwise, adding him before and after the July All-Star break could also be a viable option.
