The Milwaukee Bucks won the 2024 NBA Cup after going undefeated throughout the entire season. Giannis Antetokounmpo played a huge role in the final victory over Oklahoma City Thunder last Tuesday, the Greek Freak recorded a triple-double of 26 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists.
It was just another day at the office for the one-time NBA MVP, but it shouldn’t have happened if the Oklahoma City Thunder had taken advantage of an Antetokounmpo foul early. This drew the ire of Gilbert Arenas, who sharply criticized the Oklahoma City coaching staff.
“All you new coaches, all you stupid,” Arenas said of Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault. “When it comes to understanding the game, the gray area, you’re stupid because (Giannis Antetokounmpo) had three fouls early in the second quarter and finished with three fouls.”
“(He) will try to block every shot, he will try to play defense, and you will literally let him end the game with three fouls… There is no basketball education in this place.” – the three-time NBA All-Star emphasized in his podcast.
Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks did most of the damage in the third period
Gilbert Arenas was right about the Oklahoma City Thunder as Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks in the third quarter, helping them pull away. Milwaukee defeated Oklahoma City 26-14 and never looked back. Milwaukee and Oklahoma City also helped he shot poorly from three-point range.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in that memorable third quarter. The Greek Freak rested with less than two minutes left in the quarter, in which Milwaukee had a 10-point lead.
