2015 All-Star affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers; A Mets fan favorite projected as a great addition to the team’s newborn core

The Milwaukee Brewers are having some good moments, but they still need to make some moves, especially with Willy Adames out. The answer may be Jose Iglesias.

From 2025, a full decade will have passed first and only All-Star appearance (via Detroit Tigers) by Cuban, but age shouldn’t be a hindrance to Brewers scouts as the MLB analyst thinks he’ll be a great fit for them.

His own song OMG made him a fan favorite for his last team, the New York Mets, but don’t be fooled. He is more than just an artist. Fans loved him because he had a 22-game batting streak 0.395 (34 out of 86) in the last three weeks of September.

SB Nation’s Paul Dietrich thinks Iglesias will he’s a great fit for the Brewers due to his performances last season.

“Jose Iglesias, after a year out of the majors, had an extremely effective season last year at age 34, but I would have huge doubts about his offensive numbers (he had a sky-high BABIP); if the Brewers (and his agent) don’t expect him to hit like he did last year, he could be an option,” Dietrich wrote.

Why are the Milwaukee Brewers taking a shot at Jose Iglesias?

Money is the main issue for the Brewers in this 2025 free agency. Luckily for them, a 34-year-old stop doesn’t cost that much.

Other stops associated with the club are pricey, but Sportrac reports that Iglesias is worth just $1.7 million.

Iglesias remains a solid hitter and could be a great addition to the team’s newborn lineup.
