State parks officials have two of the busiest state parks in Wisconsin, Kettle Moraine State Forest’s North Branch and South Branch, preparing for another busy summer.
Joe Giesfeldt, superintendent of the northern unit, said visitation has not slowed down.
“Based on traffic counts at major recreation areas, we estimate approximately 650,000 people visit them annually,” Giesfeldt said. “It’s not even close to what we actually see. We do not monitor every parking lot. We just follow our main ones.
