‘It’s such an honor’: Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Montee Ball reacts to being elected to the College Football Hall of Fame

Former Wisconsin Badgers defenseman Montee Ball had an incredible college career. In the years 2009–2012 he was a defenseman for the Badgers.

After his college career, Ball moved on to the NFL and was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft (58th overall). Montee Ball only played in the NFL for two seasons in Denver.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the former Badgers were returning Montee Ball was named College Football Hall of Fame for the class of 2025. The ball responded on its Twitter to this huge news, saying:

It’s such an honor. Thank you very much to all the voters, the committee, Badger fans, my family and teammates ❤️UW football, Thomas Hammock and everything that has helped me on this journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

This is a big deal for him and his family. Many Badgers fans remember his success in college. During his college career, Ball played in 94 games and rushed for 5,140 yards on 924 carries and 77 touchdowns, and averaged 5.6 yards per carry.

Ball also caught 59 passes for 598 yards and six touchdowns and averaged 10.1 yards per reception. He helped the Badgers win BIG10 conference titles in 2011 and 2012. This may be another reason he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame, and Wisconsin hasn’t won the conference since.

Many Badgers fans are happy that Montee Ball received this prestigious honor. Wisconsin fans want the football program to win BIG10 titles again and also have talented running backs like Ball. This is a great day for the Montee Ball family and fans.
