Former Wisconsin Badgers defenseman Today Chenal he certainly had a great start to his NFL career. Developed by Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Chenal will now appear in his third straight AFC Championship Game. Of course, he also won two Super Bowl rings, as Kansas City is another Super Bowl champion.
Chenal and the Chiefs return to the AFC Championship Game after defeating the Houston Texans 23-14 on Saturday night. However, it was not without a bit of controversy.
Former Wisconsin Badgers defenseman Leo Chenal and the Chiefs have received positive calls from officials
Throughout the game between the Chiefs and the Texans, fans and former NFL players were highly critical of the officiating. Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes in particular was the recipient of some very favorable decisions made by the referees.
“Hard passer hit” on Mahomes when he literally wasn’t even hit.
An NFL game is truly impossible to watch. I have never seen gross work in my life. pic.twitter.com/vVwTKJ3Fgw

In the clip above, Mahomes slipped behind schedule in the game. Two Texans defenders clashed helmets, barely touching the two-time NFL MVP. Still, they were penalized for hitting the quarterback.

And then there was the play above, where Mahomes went down as if he had been brutally hit off the field, prompting another penalty.
Wisconsin Badgers Legend Joe Thomas Thank you Patrick Mahomes
Former Badgers offensive lineman and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jo Thomas he watched the match and, like many, wasn’t too thrilled with the officiating.
During the game, he sarcastically thanked Mahomes on social media for making the problem with NFL referees so obvious to everyone:
.@PatrickMahomes does a great job of capitalizing on the seeming “unnecessary harshness” of today’s QB rules…helping to prove my point and get the NFL to make the necessary changes this offseason.
Thank you my friend 🤝🤝

Many fans on social media compared Mahomes’ flop to that of LeBron James and Joel Embiid in the NBA. It became such a problem in this league that players whistled for defeat.
Perhaps the NFL should consider this as well.
