There are apparently more cracks and fissures in the relationship between the Miami Heat and their star Jimmy Butler.
On Wednesday o Heat has been announced that they once again slapped Butler with a suspension after he reportedly missed the team’s plane for Thursday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum.
Miami HEAT statement regarding Jimmy Butler:
We have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games due to his continued disregard for team rules, insubordination and conduct detrimental to the team, including missing the team’s flight to Milwaukee today.
The Heat, however, opted to fly to Milwaukee earlier on Wednesday, but Butler reportedly also had plans to catch up with his team on another flight.
As a result of the suspension, Butler will not play for the Heat during their games against the Bucks on Thursday and against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Saturday. Butler won’t be able to rejoin the Heat until next Tuesday at the earliest, when Miami returns home to beat the Orlando Magic – and that’s provided the Heat don’t trade him elsewhere, ending what appears to be an increasing distraction for the team.
The Miami Heat suspended Butler again
Butler’s two-game suspension is the second such disciplinary action levied against him by Miami this month, as the Heat also suspended him for seven games for the same reason of “conduct detrimental to the team.”
During the season, the 35-year-old Butler is averaging 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 25 games.
