The countdown of Future Packers Future is a countdown of 100 potential customers that can be chosen by Green Bay Packers in 2025 NFL Draft.
Green Bay Packers may lose, i.e. Slaton this season. Defensive equipment is expected to hit the open market, and clever money would suggest that former Gator Florida will not get a second agreement at Green Bay (Tom Silverstein just reported that Packers are re -signing Slaton).
Kenneth Grant is a player who can be a potential replacement and perceived as an improvement over Slaton. Michigan defensive equipment works at number 85 in unpacking Future Packers Countdown.
Three star recruit, Grant had minimal production during the first season at Ann Arbor. In 2023, the grant registered five attacks on a loss, 3.5 bags, one interception and five pass bends. Last season, he recorded seven attacks about a loss, three bags and five bugs of passes.
Wolverines, like Penn State, have produced a lot of defensive liners in recent years. The grant is cut out of the same material. It is replaced with 6-3, 342 pounds and has unique physical skills for the player of its size. Its size and athletism were an crucial reason why the grant was in 3rd place in Bruce Feldman’s Freak list.
“Kenneth Grant’s biggest strengths is his ability to eat space and his unique speed in his size,” said Devin Jackson, NFL Draft writer for Philadelphia Inquirer. “He is doing well, changing his approach in shooting up, using swimming movement or a huge length of the arm to get to the internal transmission of liners.”
The grant has a lot of power flowing through its frame. It is fat at the attack point and can be tough to move. He is able to attack the gaps with a rapid exploit of the hand and a good initial speed outside Snap. The former three -star recruit has a good speed of pursuit to play a fight. According to Pro Football FocusThe grant registered 22 stops last season.
“It is difficult to move him away, although I think he could be a bit more consistent in being fat in double teams,” said Jackson. “He uses swimming movement to get quick winnings, and showed the possibility of laying, looking and dropping offensive liners.”
Although the grant will never lead the league or even his team in sacks, he has a strict power to fall in his pocket. If he is unable to win with his bull Rush, the grant uses the cunning swimming movement to get to the playmaker. To go with 6.5 sacks, the grant has also noted 50 pressure over the past two seasons.
“Grant, mainly, is an effort as a rusher and was an anchor acrobatics in the interior,” said Jackson. “His ability to store two blockers to release another teammate, was impressive, but in one -on -one situations he consisted of speeding speeds and swimmers as a rusher interior.”
Adjust to the Packers
The Green Bay defensive line was balmy and cool during the first season of Jeff Haffa as a defense coordinator. The inconsistent game led to the release of the coach of the defense line of Jason Rebrovich.
Packers will have a fresh voice leading this room and will probably also have a fresh player or two.
Because Slaton probably played his last snap in Green Bay, Packers could exploit defensive equipment with a set of grant skill. He would stop the cross -country stripes and could provide a petite shot in the shoulder in a hurry of the pass.
“If you are looking for a grant, you are looking for a high interior interior content that develops in Upfield shooting and disturbing the pieces in the back room,” said Jackson. “Although it needs more work in which you can anchor double teams, grant’s upside is 2-to make a 1-tech, which can give you a pocket of the interior pressing the third fall, although it will not be his role at the beginning of his career.”
Packers have a solid defensive group on paper. Even with the potential departure, Slaton Packers still have Kenny Clark, Devonte Wyatt and Karl Brooks.
Now this piece of paper is torn.
Clark probably had the worst season in his career. Is it a sign that it starts to fall off? Or maybe it was just a flash on the radar?
It will turn out if Green Bay will receive the Fifth Year option Wyatt. Brooks is a solid rotational element, but its presence should not stop Gutekunst from adding a player like a grant to a mix.
The grant must burn some parts of his game, such as a consistent game with the right pad level, and continuing development as a rusher. Even with these scratchy patches, you can’t deny the talent of Grant.
Slaton played 457 snaps last season and recorded 14 pressure, 20 stops, two fights for a loss and one bag.
Give these 457 snaps to a player with a set of Grant’s skill, and can support in seven seven Green Bay in a more dominant strength.
The grant has strength and speed to clog things against the run and play behind the fight line, regardless of whether he does the equipment for a loss or a linebacker release such as Quay Walker or Edgerrin Cooper.
